Grain top-grain leather is the first layer of leather on a cow's body, featuring the original skin characteristics on its surface, with clear pores and grain, possessing natural traits and an attractive appearance. It feels soft, full, and elastic. Synthetic leather is an artificial leather mainly made of PVC. The grain pattern on synthetic leather is regular and generally recognizable to the naked eye. 
The texture of top-grain leather is very delicate and has good plasticity. In contrast, synthetic leather feels slightly rougher and does not easily recover its original shape after prolonged folding.
The finger press test on the Shenshi auditorium chair is a good way to distinguish between top-grain leather and synthetic leather. When you press top-grain leather with your finger, fine grain patterns appear around the pressed area and disappear after releasing. Synthetic leather does not show such grain patterns when pressed.
