Cinema seats, auditorium seats, and car seats are generally made of leather surfaces. Especially car seats use special leather that must undergo treatments such as UV resistance, heat resistance, light resistance, and wear resistance, which makes the cost relatively high. Therefore, some unscrupulous manufacturers may mix in cheaper leather, so car owners should pay attention to distinguishing the authenticity and quality of the leather.
Document method: Genuine factory leather has clear origins, including the place of production, leather factory mark, leather test report, leather usage authorization, and other basic information, all of which are indispensable. Label method: Genuine factory leather will have the production date, leather factory name, and area marked on the back. (The production date should not be too old; leather over 3 years old should be checked for mold.)
Observation method: Under a 30x magnifying glass, the leather surface appears like the surface of the moon, full of pits and holes, indicating good breathability. When cutting the leather crosswise with a blade, the color from the outer layer to the inner layer should be consistent. Pay attention to whether there is any discoloration beneath the outer layer to avoid buying dyed or recolored second-hand leather.
Smell method: Good leather should not have a pungent odor after processing, so excessive solvent or coating smells are undesirable. Heat resistance method: Ask the manufacturer for a small piece of leather and use a cigarette butt to burn the sample for 2-3 seconds to avoid buying PU products. Since a lighter flame covers a larger area, the burning time should be extended accordingly.
